Privacy Policy Summary
We appreciate the trust you place in AKAT Brokerage, Inc. (DBA AKAT Transport) and are committed to protecting your privacy. We use secure hosting (https://) to protect information sent to us via our website forms and email. Further, AKAT Transport will never share or sell your personal and/or company mobile contact information or opt-in data with any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties either. Your contact details will only be used by us to contact you regarding transport dispatch, and identify you as a responsible party in a transport agreement with AKAT and one of AKAT’s transport partners. In short, we use your contact information to communicate with you and fulfill a transport dispatch agreement with you.
What Information Is Collected?
We receive and store any information you enter on our website or give us in any other way, such as via telephone, electronic mail, online or otherwise as follows:
- Contact Information: We collect and retain the personal contact information that you submit to us voluntarily. This consists of your name, telephone numbers, email address, and the physical addresses your provide for transport pickup and delivery. Your phone number and email address are used to communicate with you when necessary with respect to our transactions, services and customer support. Our quote request form includes an opt-in checkbox to authorize us to send you an SMS message to notifying you when we have sent you a price quote via email. - Transport Details: We collect details about the type of transport (RVs or other trailer mounted cargo) and associated dimensions and weights, etc. and VIN [Vehicle Identification Number] of we transport for you).
- We do not collect any banking or financial information via SMS or email or through our website. If you enter in a transport agreement with AKAT Transport, your credit card information will be collected verbally by phone by a live dispatcher at the time you confirm final details of our transport agreement. Please see AKAT Transport terms and conditions for the timing of credit card charges on your behalf, and overall agreement details.
- Data Retention: We do NOT retain any of your financial information (credit card number, expiration date and security code, and name on card) after we complete payment of requested transport services. Contact information and transport details you provide for a price quote are stored indefinitely on our secure servers.
- Demographic Information: Our website provider may collect and store anonymous demographic information (such as your zip code), and use this data to tailor your experience on our websites, provide content that you might be interested in, perform general improvements to our website, and display the content according to your preferences. Such demographic information may be shared with partners, market researchers and other third parties on an aggregate, non-personally identifiable basis. No personally identifiable information will be linked to such aggregated demographic information that is shared with third parties.
- Other Information: Our website provider collects and stores certain types of information whenever you interact with our website. For example, servers track the type of web browser you are using and the page from which you link. Additionally, we log IP addresses (a unique number assigned to every computer on the Internet) in order to improve security, analyze trends and administer our website.
