AKAT Transport Terms & Conditions

  1. Transport Cancellation Policy
Please plan carefully before finalizing a transport contract with us.  If you must cancel a Dispatched Transport (driver assigned and transport scheduled), do so at least 48 hours prior to your confirmed pickup date, or you can incur a Truck Not Used Fee of at least $250. This is because the cancellation will disrupt the schedule of interstate trips arranged for your driver before and after your transport. Please call us at 352-472-3343 M-F 9-5 EST with any questions – we are here to help you.
  2.  Restrictions on Quoted Transport Price
Quoted price can increase if unanticipated costs are incurred during your transport. Examples include, but are not limited to, repairs  or replacement of your trailer tires if you did not provide an inflated spare; mechanical repairs to your trailer; or, cost of unforeseen government-required escort vehicles on particular roadways.
  3.  All Payments Are through AKAT
AKAT collects all payments (credit or debit card only) by phone. Drivers are not allowed to request funds from customers under any circumstance. Any repairs, if needed during transport, will be paid for by driver or AKAT and collected from customers by AKAT subsequently.
  4.  Transport Cannot Take Place  / Truck Not Used Fee
You may be subject to a Truck Not Used Fee of at least $250 in the event that our driver arrives as scheduled at your location but determines that transport cannot take place due to conditions that cannot be corrected in less than half an hour by the driver or owner (you) at your expense. Conditions that may prevent transport include, but are not limited to:

    • The RV, trailer or trailer-mounted cargo exceeds quoted dimensions or other limits stated in the quote. Total length includes trailer tongue if applicable. Max RV or trailer width is 12 ft. Max height is 15 ft.
    • Hitch type specified in quote is not correct. For example, bumper-pull was specified and your RV is a 5th-wheel.
    • Trailer is not roadworthy, i.e., (a) dry-rotted tire(s) (b) flat tire(s); (c) unsafe condition of any component of trailer and hitch; or
    •  The load is not mounted on a trailer, or is unbalanced, or otherwise not mounted securely;
    • RV / Trailer is not easily and immediately accessible to be hitched and moved because it is (a) blocked by other vehicles or trailers (our drivers cannot move other trailers or vehicles for you) (b) trailer is locked to another hitch (c) trailer is sitting in a field or other location with, in driver’s sole estimation, unsafe / uneven access.

If you are unsure about any potential problems or conditions, please discuss them with us before finalizing transport. Call us at 352-472-3343 M-F 9-5 EST – we are here to help you.

  5.  Condition of Tires Disclaimer AKAT is not responsible for damages caused to your RV, trailer. boat or trailer cargo due to tire failure (blowouts, flat tires, lost retreads) of worn-out or damaged tires on your RV or trailer.
  6. Provide an Inflated Spare Tire
We highly recommend that you provide an inflated spare tire for your trailer. In the event of a flat tire on your trailer, driver will replace  the flat at no cost to you. However, if you do not provide an inflated spare, and have a flat, you will be charged for roadside service. All other repairs by driver must be pre-approved by AKAT. Customers may not reimburse driver directly.
  7. No Utilities Breakdown or Setup
Our drivers do NOT provide breakdown or setup of RV utilities. Water, Sewer, Electric, Telephone and Air Conditioning lines must be disconnected by owner prior to transport. Likewise, upon delivery, it is owner’s responsibility to connect all utility lines.
  8. Leveling of your RV upon delivery
Our drivers only provide basic RV leveling (when applicable) upon delivery.
  9. Boat Pick-up and Drop-off Conditions
Due to insurance regulations, our drivers cannot pull boats from the water, or put boats into the water for you.
